Why Does Songtrust Keep Collecting Royalties After My Account Is Canceled?

Think of it as a year-long commitment to keeping your money sorted.

If you decide to cancel your account, Songtrust will provide you with a Letter of Relinquishment (LOR) to give to your new publisher. If the songs you added to your account were eligible for song registration and were sent out to societies, please note that some collection societies may spend the next year sending us royalty payments for streams and other uses that occurred during the term your Songtrust agreement, so we continue collecting them and paying them to you as usual.

This is simply how our quarterly payments dovetail with the distribution schedules of different societies. Rest assured you’ll receive everything you’re owed after Songtrust takes our commission, just like with payments that occurred during our term.

Please note that your payment method in your account will remain active as long as you keep its billing and tax information updated and maintained. You may also request an exported royalties statement at any time. To do so, please use our Support Form to submit a ticket and reach our Client Services Team. You can find this form by logging into your account and finding the link on your client dashboard.
