Songtrust is a global publishing administrator that collects your performance, mechanical, and YouTube composition royalties, and offers a suite of other advanced tools for handling your publishing catalog. You don't need to meet any criteria to be able to join - anyone who has released music is free to sign up with Songtrust, 

Kobalt is a publishing administration service that offers traditional publishing deals on a selective basis, meaning they don't offer deals to just anyone. The deals they do offer include label services and collect neighboring rights in addition to performance and mechanical royalties.

  • Pricing: No upfront fee, and the commission rates vary client-by-client.
  • Royalty Collection Reach: Undisclosed
  • Royalty Types: Mechanical, performance, and neighbouring rights.
  • Barrier to Entry: Yes. Kobalt is a traditional publisher who makes offers to clients on a selective basis.
  • Collects from YouTube: Yes. 
  • Minimum Term Length: Varies client-by-client.
