Is Songtrust a Performing Rights Organization (like ASCAP, BMI, SESAC)?

Songtrust is a publishing administrator, not a PRO.

No, Songtrust is not a Performing Rights Organization (PRO). We act as a publishing administrator to collect publishing royalties on behalf of songwriters. These royalties include performance royalties paid by Performing Rights Organizations (e.g. ASCAP, BMI, SESAC).

You do need to be affiliated with a PRO in order to use Songtrust's service. All writers have to be affiliated in order to receive their writer's share. If you're not yet affiliated with one, we can help you get registered through your Songtrust account. All fees are included in your Songtrust plan.

If you're already set up, we can simply start collecting royalties on your behalf and we can administer as much or as little of your catalog as you wish. We will help you manage your current catalog at your PRO and increase income sources of global and mechanical royalties.

If you have questions about how your PRO works with Songtrust, please utilize our contact form.
