What Is The Quebec Collective Society for the Rights of Makers of Sound and Video Recordings (SOPROQ)?

SOPROQ is a non-profit organization that exists to administer creators' royalties. Its mission is to ensure that the makers of sound and video recordings benefit fully from certain rights to which they are entitled: reproduction rights, equitable remuneration rights, and the right arising from the private copying regime. It should be noted that SOPROQ collects on the master recordings, not the publishing, and is completely separate from Songtrust.

SOPROQ also administers the granting of general licenses for music videos and for sound recording reproduction.

SOPROQ repertoire is represented internationally by the following organizations:

SCPP (France),

SoundExchange (United States)

SIMIM (Belgium, Luxembourg)

SENA (Netherlands)
