It’s all about the details.
The term metadata sounds very technical, but it’s exactly what it sounds like: the informational details used in tracking and reporting for web pages, software, TV and radio broadcasting, studio recordings, and more.
Music-related metadata is information you chose to embed into files like WAVs and MP3s. Some common examples include a song’s artist, title, album, ISRC, copyright information, writer, engineer/producer, and publisher.
Engineers often embed metadata when they master your music. Labels and distributors may also embed metadata when they release your songs, in order to track sales and streams across various platforms around the world.
Tip: Make sure you add ISRCs to your Songtrust catalog so we can track your music as accurately as possible.
