How do I get Permission to use Someone Else’s Song or Recording in My YouTube Video?

You must get permission from the rights holder.

If you plan to include copyright-protected material in your video, you will need to seek permission from the rights-holder(s) to do so first. YouTube or Songtrust cannot grant you these rights and we are unable to assist in finding and contacting the parties who may be able to grant them to you. This is something you’ll have to research and handle on your own or with the assistance of a lawyer.
