Do I Need to Set Up a YouTube Channel to Collect Publishing Royalties?

It's Up to You!

Songtrust delivers all of your songs with ISRC information to YouTube’s Content ID System so nearly all of your monetizable videos will automatically be claimed on your behalf.

However, if you do come across any videos that are using your music that are not being claimed (such as covers or live performances), you can submit them to us in the Manual Claims section of your Youtube Monitor. Please note that we can not monetize videos that do not meet YouTube's new eligibility requirements (as of February 20, 2018).

PRO TIP: If you do have a YouTube channel, we highly suggest you join the YouTube Partner Program and add your channel to your YouTube Monitor. This will allow you to monetize your own uploaded content without having to go through Songtrust. We will still claim any videos on other users' channels, provided that they do not have a proper agreement with you in place.
