Can You Collect My Royalties From Soundcloud?
The short answer: Yes, but it depends on your Soundcloud account type.
When your music is streamed on SoundCloud, it generates publishing royalties for the songwriting. These are separate from the recording royalties shown in your SoundCloud dashboard.
Tracks uploaded on a Next (Free) account do not generate any royalties. Publishing income is only created if you have a paid Next Plus or Next Pro account with "Monetization" enabled.
SoundCloud does not pay publishing royalties directly to artists. Instead, they send this money to global collection societies (like The MLC, BMI, and ASCAP). We act as a publishing administrator to help musicians claim their performance and mechanical royalties generated on Soundcloud from societies everywhere their music is being played globally.
