There are two types of royalties collected from sync deals:

  1. Upfront - The fees you receive for the initial use of the song
  2. Backend -  the royalties from the actual use of the song that is tracked and monetized. 

Songtrust collects these backend royalties and also offers sync processing for any upcoming sync deals. The deal is non-exclusive with regards to synchronization royalties. This means that you can procure and process synchronization licenses independently of Songtrust using your own connections or a 3rd party service. You can even enter an exclusive creative deal with another company. Songtrust can serve as a resource for inbound sync requests and negotiation/processing as you see fit.
