Yes, not all videos are approved through the YouTube Claim System. First, we have a claim system that verifies accurate data. Then, YouTube determines if Songtrust can monetize the video or not.

Videos are monetized via ad revenue, so when we "claim" a video, we are putting advertisements on it, and therefore monetizing it. There are no thresholds for number of views to start monetizing, however videos with more views will obviously generate more royalties. Monetization begins as soon as we place a claim, and we are paid by YouTube monthly. We process those statements and pay them out at the end of the following quarter.
