We do not register your songs with US Copyright Office. If you would like to do so, you can copyright your works via copyright.gov. Copyrighting your works does not mean you will be paid-- you still have to register with a publishing administrator, start your own publishing company, or sign a traditional publishing deal to exploit your works.
The act of registering your songs with Songtrust is a great way to prove active ownership of your catalog. That is why we encourage you to sign up with Songtrust and register your catalog under your ownership.
Some say that it is only necessary to register your copyrights with the U.S copyright office if you are concerned about someone stealing your works or using them as their own. Some will say 'better safe than sorry!' This decision is ultimately up to you.
