How does YouTube know when my music is being played?

Last Updated: Sep 24, 2014 03:10PM EDT
YouTube uses a system called Content ID, which matches audio from recordings to identify the use of your music in videos. You can also manually identify these videos that are not matched by Youtube’s Content ID system using your Songtrust YouTube Monitor, which helps find content that does not use the original audio (e.g. A Ukulele cover of a hard rock song, or a Chopped and Screwed version of a hip hop song).
